Forbes is located on the Lachlan River, 387 kms west of Sydney. BIG4 Forbes Lachlan View Holiday Park is 500 metres south of the Forbes hospital on the Cowra/Grenfell Highway and 5 minutes south of the town centre. Forbes is famous for its connections with the bushranger Ben Hall during the gold rush in the late 1800's. Forbes has some fine parks and gardens associated with a large lagoon known as Lake Forbes which bisects the town.
